Is it possible to install Paratext in Ubuntu 21.10?

I’ve installed the repositories, but the impish repository doesn’t seem to contain paratext-9.0. I tried changing the line in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/packages-sil-org.list to this:

deb Directory Listing focal main

When I did that, I could install sudo apt install paratext-9.0. But launching Paratext caused it to crash.

Paratext only runs on Ubuntu LTSs.

Paratext Lite will run on any Ubuntu thought. (or likely any Linux distribution)

Thank you. I didn’t realise that Paratext Lite was available for desktop, not just Android.

I'm running Paratext 9 in Linux Mint 22.1

The solution I found was to install it from the Snap package. Snap repositories are disabled by default in Mint (I don't know whether this is also true of Ubuntu).  Snap access can be enable with:

sudo rm /etc/apt/preferences.d/nosnap.pref

sudo apt install snapd

And then:
sudo snap install paratext --beta

I have not so far found any problems with this installation.

I hope this may help other Linux users.
