With the current world situation, many of our translation teams are working remotely and not in their office together. I’ve found myself using the Recent Changes window to see when certain work was completed. I’ve been wondering, does that date listed there reflect the date that the changes were made (locally), or the date that they were received by the server? I’ve had several days where I’m sure that the translators did not send any work, only to see later that there were changes attributed to that date.

I’m just wondering how to interpret the dates listed there. If those dates do reflect the days the changes were made rather than sent, is there a different way to check when send/receive actually happened?

Thanks.

Maybe I can contribute here.
While you won’t get a history entry for the “make a send/receive” event, you can find out the day a change was made to the text or tools. Which seems to me to be the information you need.

For example, if someone doesn’t do an s/r until after 5 days, unfortunately you won’t have information on their work those 5 days, but anyway when this s/r is done, you will have all the changes and the dates they were made during those 5 days. If a verse was edited on day 1, or the Word List was modified on day 3, etc.

The History also offers you filtering options by user, date and tool.

In general, it is recommended that teams do an s/r at the beginning and end of each workday. If they have access to the Internet, this will allow you to keep the information up to date. But even if they don’t, constant s/r to a usb or with chorus are valuable.

I had forgotten about the Project History filter. What a fabulous tool! Thank you for sharing @anon689242.

The version filter is in the toolbar of the Project History window:

I’ll share an English version of the Version Filter window as well, as I appreciated the reminder that this feature existed.

I would also recommend doing a Send/Receive before breaks/lunch as well.

The dates reflect the date the changes were made or more specifically the date the revision containing the changes was made.

Paratext does not record the times when a S/R happens. Is there a reason you need to know when a change was S/R’d?

Ok, thanks.

There isn’t a great need for this, just something that might help out with supervising these teams, to know which day they sent changes.

Thanks for the replies everyone. @anon689242, that Project history filter is nice.

Normally the translators send/receive 2-3 times a day, but while working from home, we are having situations where they didn’t send/receive for days, or sometimes a week or more, so I was just curious if there was a history of when work was actually sent. Most of the time, we’re interested in when the work was done, but just occasionally I’m curious when it was sent.
