A team I support has been publishing selected Psalms and other chapters to their Scripture app as the chapters are approved for publication. The link below is to a simple command line tool that I created to help make this easier.

It users a configuration/specification file rather where you tell it what chapters and books you want and then it copies only those texts without the need to manually copy and edit the SFM files to remove empty chapters.

I imagine that other folks here already have something like this, but I was asked by another team I support for a tool like this and thought that it might be useful to other teams in other regions too.

This sounds very similar to what Bible Modules do. Can the extra books generated by Bible Modules be used by Scripture App Builder?

I don’t know. It would be fantastic if they could though. Scripture App Builder wants separate SFM files for each book as far as I know. This tool let’s you generate them. Maybe someone who knows more about Bible Modules can chime in.

A Bible Module, which is created in any one of the Extra books in PT
(XXA, XXB, etc), is treated as a “book” by Scripture App Builder. You
can add \r reference lines if you want to specify each passage you pull
in. You can also add to the Bible Module extra illustrations, section
headings, text bridges or extra explanatory material, etc, that you
might want for a topical Scripture reading book, but that you don’t want
to add to the main Scripture text in your project.

So it turns out that Scripture App Builder will let you select Chapters and verses. So the only real feature that this offers is the ability to split different parts of an SFM file into separate files which can be useful if you want them to appear as different books in the app. And it allows you to do some clean up and a few other minor things
