I’m working on setting up add-ons for some of my projects (such as a table of biblical weights and measures, a Jewish calendar, and so on), using extra books, such as XXB, XXC. I want to create clickable links in the extra books but the code \xt…\xt* doesn’t create a link as it does in the regular Bible text. Is there a different USFM code I should use for Scripture reference links in these books, or is it something in the way the project stylesheet is set up that causes the link to not be inserted? I’ve been looking through the help files and this site for answers but haven’t found any so far.

Because the extra books are not usually broken up by chapter/verse, links for cross references are not created in the extra books for performance reasons. Sorry, but there isn’t anything you can do to make them show up.

That’s a pity! Thanks anyway.

However, using \xt…\xt* isn’t all for naught, as PT’s References Basic Check still works in the XX books, based on these markers.

We are having similar issues and questions for the glossary. I believe at the moment, links into the glossary are possible when targeting the actual headword of an entry.

But links (to example verses) out from the glossary are also not working presently.

We are experimenting already with dummy verses, as the glossary is growing and so far no visible bad side effects.

Main question: In hope of better computers in a few years (more performance), would it hurt to insert links using tags like \xt, even if they are presently not working?

Maybe they will be supported later. Or maybe they will work for tools like Scripture App Builder to allow actual clickable links in final products.

It shouldn’t hurt anything, and as @Phil stated, the References Check still checks them in the extra books, it just doesn’t show links in the text.

One reason that you cannot link your project to an enhanced resource could be because the project is not open. Only open projects can be linked to enhanced resources.

I'm getting Luke and Acts ready to be printed as a booklet, and I can't figure out how to put an intermediate title page before the beginning of Acts.
