I have been assigning dates/deadlines to the various steps of our project plan, but I can’t find where those dates show up anywhere under “Tasks”. It’s not obvious for the team members to go into the project plan details and find these assigned dates, so I’m hoping there is an easy way to get the assigned dates to show up under their individual Tasks tab.

Has anyone else found a way for dates to work well in the project plan?

Thanks!

jwagner, can you explain where you are assigning those dates? Do you put it in the task name? or the description? or somewhere else?

The current implementation of the project plan does not have a way to show deadline information (except for the project as a whole - and that is in the registry). When a user clicks on Assignments and Progress and then goes to My Tasks they should see the tasks that are currently assigned to them and for which they have editing rights.

I’m not sure how you could add deadlines to tasks since the plan is for the entire project, but the translator sees individual books.

If you have not watched the videos on administering a project plan I’d recommend watching this set found at:

I think he’s talking about the deadlines for each stage per book:

The deadline dates are only for the administrator to make sure progress is happening as expected. The values are currently only used for the Forecast Line Chart (Project > Progress Charts > Forecast Line Chart).

anon848905,
anon291708 is correct, I thought the deadlines in each stage that forecast the project plan would also be a great help to the team for keeping track of their assignments on multiple books etc…

I can do a screenshot of their Tasks page and write in their deadlines myself, but it seems like a great idea if it can be built right into the project plan.

Thanks for the quick replies, I really appreciate it!

Feel free to make a feature request for doing something more with that information.
