Recent S+R slowdown in Paratext 7, but not Paratext 8

Question

Recently, since January 2nd 2018, after I think a Windows update, my Paratext 7 Send and Receive dialogue window is very slow to load. It can take minutes, 3-5 minutes. This is despite reducing the number of active projects. Paratext 8 send and receive is very fast and working fine.

Is there anything I can do to fix this situation?

Can you post what the progress bar says during this slow loading time?

It just says - Loading Data - and the green progress bar moves very slowly towards the right hand side. I recently deleted quite a number of projects - from Paratext 7 - as they’d been migrated to Paratext 8. Many of them returned as New Projects, and I used Alt-Select to make them Non-Active Projects. I’m wondering if this recent action of mine may have anything to do with the slowdown?

Well, nothing in the code looks suspicious, so I’m not sure what might be causing your issues. Could you use Help > Report a problem inside Paratext to report this issue to us? Ideally right after you see the issue. That might help us track down what is happening.

I believe I know why it did this. See my earlier response. After I installed all these New Projects, and then made them Non-Active Projects, Paratext 7 Send and Receive loaded normally, much much faster. So I am pretty sure that is what was causing the problem. I trust this is not a problem in Paratext 8!
