K7 antivirus removing Paratext 8 files

Question

It came to our notice that users with K7 Antivirus installed are having issues with Paratext 8. The Antivirus deletes .dll files from Paratext 8 folder in Program files and also blocks Paratext from accessing server thereby restricting users from doing Send and Receive.

We were able to sort out the issue by manually adding exclusion entries and allowing the Paratext app in firewall. Is there a long-term solution that Paratext support team can suggest, that will sort out this issue.

I’m not familiar with K7, but most antivirus software has some way to tell them that they are creating a false-positive match for an application. You’d have to figure out how to do that with K7 and tell them that Paratext is being incorrectly labeled as a virus/malware. Otherwise, the long-term solution is to do what you did - create an exclusion for Paratext.
