I installed PT7.5 on Win-XP as administrator, but run as a regular user. However, it keeps downloading an update and then failing to install it, with the pop-up command window saying administrator access is required. I think PT7.4 allowed updates as a regular user?

Do I need to change some file permissions?

By the way, where are the PUD files automatically downloaded to?

Even when logged on as administrator it just seems to keep saying something like “Update is downloading” but never seems to get anywhere.

Just a thought – can you set the properties of pt7update.exe to run as administrator? Will that enable the update to run?

It may still require you to input your admin password though.

You will have to log off as a normal user of Windows and log in as administrator and then you will have do look under your normal user documents/downloads for the update.exe file to run. It will then install in Windows.
