I think I've made a big mistake. So I have an unused registration called "Tim Hubuei 01" and figure I'd change the name so that it can be used by another user. However, it's only after I  successfully changed the registration name to "Tim Banyadu 03" did I notice that I cannot change it's first name and last name. Therefore, I decided to change it back and then register a new user instead. But to my surprise, I cannot register a new user with the name "Tim Banyadu 03" because it's no longer available.

I'm 100% sure this was caused by my own actions. But is it possible to fix this?

Hi Tim,
I am a developer working on the Registry.
When you rename a registration, the registry keeps a record of its previous names so the same name can't be quietly reused by someone else. Renaming "Tim Hubuei 01" → "Tim Banyadu 03" → back to "Tim Hubuei 01" left "Tim Banyadu 03" recorded as a former name on that registration, which is why the system treated it as already taken even though nothing is currently using it.

I've cleared that leftover entry, so "Tim Banyadu 03" is available again. You should be able to register it now. The "Tim Hubuei 01" registration is untouched and still there under its original name. (You won't need "Tim Banyadu 04" after all.)

Thanks for the clear write-up.

Thanks for the explanation! And thank you so much for making that name available again!

If Tim Hubuei 01 is not being used I would recommend deleting that registration. This might free up the Tim Banyadu 03 registration, but I'm not sure of that. You could also try registering Tim Banyadu 04.
