Can someone help walk me through setting up and using a diglot?

I have downloaded several resources onto Paratext and I have a draft of a portion of the NT in the language we are working in. I wanted to try and do a Koine Greek Diglot with our Translation or even English translation with our translation, possibly even our own back translation in a diglot with our translation.

I downloaded Scrivener TR and seeral other reasources, but when I go to the diglot tab I see this screenshot, when I clocked on (select), it does nothing.

How exactly do I set up PTX print to print a diglot with our translation and the Greek NT or with other Public Domain English translations/our own project back translation?

You should be able to click "(Select)" in the second line and select your second text. Is this where you are stuck?

PS to colleagues. I was puzzled by "Scrivener TR" in the question, but apparently there was a NT Greek scholar named Scrivener in the late 19th century.
When I click select, The only options available is our translation and "upload". When I click upload, the software doesn't do anything.

I have several resources installed on paratext that are public domain. For example the KJV, Scriveners Textus Receptus. Why do these not show up as an option for the diglot list? What exactly am I misunderstanding or doing wrong here?

Hi Jordan,

The issue/problem is that PTXprint is not permitted to "see" (and therefore Print) any Paratext resources. Most of the resource texts in Paratext have been generously provided royalty-free by their owners for use within Paratext (as reference material). We do not have the freedom or authority to use these "Paratext resource texts" in PTXprint (even though some of them are open-access texts like the KJV, for example).

You can, however, use the little blue "Import..." link at the end of your list of projects and download+install open scripture resources which *can* be used in PTXprint. Note that the Berean Standard Bible is already included with PTXprint, and you can install that (offline) with a single click. Below that are some links that take you to either Biblica's open.bible website, or to the Digital Bible Library website. This video shows you how to use that feature in case it isn't as obvious as you need it to be (start at 3:00min if you want to cut to the chase). Note that any project texts that PTXprint has installed like this are held in a _PTXprint subfolder of "My Paratext 9 Projects" and are available to be printed, but cannot be viewed or edited in Paratext.

So, yes, it is easy to create a diglot, but only with Projects that you actually have access to (not resources). I am surprised that you don't already see your Back Translation project listed there, as I would expect that to be there.

In order to create a Diglot, make sure you have already set up the projects on both sides. In other words, make sure you can print each project in isolation BEFORE trying to bring them together side-by-side. There are some hints in this slide presentation, and there will soon be a video, but we're not there yet :-(

I also noticed from your screenshot that you're using a very old version of PTXprint. You are 13 releases and 4 months behind! I would highly recommend updating to the latest version available here.
