I have noticed that after upgrading to 9.5, the app icon for Paratext is missing, and shows as a blank sheet:

I have noticed the issue in another laptop too. I don't think it went missing immediately after the upgrade, but some time later. The issue persists even after reboots and launching Paratext. The icon shows correctly in the Start menu and in the Program Files/Paratext 9 folder.

I'm running Windows 11:

Edition    Windows 11 Pro
Version    24H2
Installed on    10/7/2025
OS build    26100.7462
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.275.0

This issue is somewhat minor, but I imagine it is a bit disorientating for some- especially those who don't use computers as much.

Has anyone else noticed the same issue?

Yes, this is a common issue with this update. The simple solution is to delete that icon and then drag the Paratext icon down from the desktop.

This worked for me! On one laptop I did just as you said. On the other, lacking a desktop icon, I dragged Paratext.exe from C:\Program Files\Paratext 9 to the taskbar, and that worked too.

Thanks Phil!
