Adobe CC n'autorise pas l'installation d'InDesign sur Windows Arm. Étonnamment, cependant, il semble fonctionner parfaitement. Voici les étapes que j'ai suivies pour l'exécuter. J'ai utilisé une version d'essai gratuite d'un programme appelé Total Uninstall de https://www.martau.com/ et une modification manuelle de fichiers exportés depuis RegEdit. Une version payante de Total Uninstall devrait faciliter ce processus en évitant complètement RegEdit.
Avertissement : j'ai fait cela, et Publishing Assistant et InDesign semblent fonctionner correctement par la suite, mais je n'ai pas utilisé cette configuration pour du travail réel, il est donc possible que vous découvriez une incompatibilité qui était la raison pour laquelle Adobe restreint l'installation d'InDesign sur Arm.
Empruntez un PC exécutant Windows x64 avec un processeur Intel ou AMD :
- Installez l'application Adobe Creative Cloud depuis https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/creative-cloud
- Connectez-vous à Adobe Creative Cloud et installez l'application Creative Cloud elle-même, mais N'INSTALLEZ PAS encore InDesign.
- Téléchargez et installez une version d'essai de la version Professionnelle d'une application appelée Total Uninstall depuis https://www.martau.com/.
- Lancez Total Uninstall et cliquez sur l'icône Install dans la barre d'outils.
- Cliquez sur Next pour créer une « instantané du système avant installation ».
- Installez InDesign depuis l'application Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Lorsque InDesign est entièrement installé, revenez à la boîte de dialogue « Monitor new installation ». Saisissez « Adobe Indesign » dans la boîte Program name puis cliquez sur Program is installed.
- Cliquez sur Finish
- Cliquez pour sélectionner « Adobe Indesign » dans la liste des noms de programmes sur le côté gauche du logiciel Total Uninstall.
- Dans le menu File, sélectionnez Create a backup for the program…
- Cliquez sur Create.
- Total Uninstaller commencera à collecter tous les fichiers installés pour InDesign et à les compresser dans un fichier ZIP. Ce processus peut prendre 5 à 10 minutes sur un ordinateur plus lent.
- Lorsque la sauvegarde est créée, cliquez sur Copy to… et spécifiez un dossier ou une clé USB dans lequel enregistrer le fichier ZIP d'environ 1,5 Go contenant InDesign et tous les fichiers qu'il a répartis sur le lecteur C:.
- Cliquez sur Finish puis quittez Total Uninstall.
- Sur le côté droit de l'écran, cliquez sur [-] pour réduire l'arborescence File system, puis faites un clic droit sur Registry et sélectionnez Export registry changes…
- Portée de l'exportation : All
- Modifications du Registre : cochez les cinq cases
- Type d'exportation : Install file
- Cliquez sur OK.
- Payez ! Ou exportez manuellement les clés de registre listées en utilisant RegEdit.exe
Sur votre PC Windows Arm :
Je fais cela sur un MacBook Air avec un processeur M2 exécutant Windows Arm dans Parallels Desktop. Je pense que cela devrait fonctionner aussi bien sur tout ordinateur ou VM exécutant toute version 64 bits de Windows (x64 ou Arm) capable d'exécuter InDesign.
- Installez l'application Adobe Creative Cloud depuis https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/creative-cloud
- Connectez-vous à Adobe Creative Cloud et installez l'application Creative Cloud elle-même, mais N'INSTALLEZ PAS encore InDesign.
- Téléchargez et installez une version Purchased de Total Uninstall, puis cliquez sur Restore a program from backup dans le menu File. Ou faites-le manuellement en suivant les étapes ci-dessous.
- Utilisez 7-Zip pour décompresser le fichier Adobe Indesign.Monitored.zip dans un dossier temporaire. (L'utilitaire zip intégré à l'Explorateur Windows est incapable de voir la plupart des fichiers dans ce fichier ZIP.)
- Copiez les fichiers à l'endroit où ils doivent se trouver sur votre lecteur C:.
- Importez les entrées du registre que vous avez précédemment exportées en utilisant RegEdit puis soigneusement élaguées en utilisant Notepad.
- Publishing Assistant devrait maintenant être en mesure de trouver et de lancer InDesign.
Adobe CC does not allow installing Indesign on Windows Arm. Surprisingly, however, it seems to run just fine. Here are the steps I went through to run it. I used a free trial of a program called Total Uninstall from https://www.martau.com/ and some manual editing of files exported from RegEdit. A paid version of Total Uninstall should make this process easier by avoiding RegEdit completely.
Warning: I've done this, and Publishing Assistant and Indesign seem to work fine afterwards, but I have not used this for any real work, so you may discover some incompatibility that was the reason why Adobe restricts InDesign from installing on Arm.
Borrow a PC running Windows x64 with an Intel or AMD processor:
- Install the Adobe Creative Cloud app from https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/creative-cloud
- Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud, and install the Creative Cloud app itself, but DO NOT install Indesign yet.
- Download and install a trial of the Professional version of an app called Total Uninstall from https://www.martau.com/.
- Launch Total Uninstall and click on the Install icon on the toolbar.
- Click Next to create a "pre-install system snapshot".
- Install Indesign from the Adobe Creative Cloud app.
- When Indesign is fully installed, return to the "Monitor new installation" dialog box. Type "Adobe Indesign" into the Program name box then click Program is installed.
- Click Finish
- Click to select "Adobe Indesign" in the list of program names on the left side of the Total Uninstall software.
- From the File menu, select Create a backup for the program…
- Click Create.
- Total Uninstaller will begin collecting all of the files installed for Indesign and compressing them into a ZIP file. This process could take 5-10 minutes on a slower computer.
- When the backup is created, click Copy to… and specify a folder or USB drive in which to save the ~1.5 GB ZIP file containing Indesign and all of the files it spread out over the C: drive.
- Click Finish and then exit Total Uninstall.
- On the right side of the screen, click [-] to collapse the File system tree, then right click on Registry and select Export registry changes…
- Export range: All
- Registry changes: check all five boxes
- Export type: Install file
- Click OK.
- Pay Money! Or export the listed registry keys manually using RegEdit.exe
On your Windows Arm PC:
I'm doing this on a MacBook Air with an M2 processor running Windows Arm in Parallels Desktop. I think it should work just as well on any computer or VM running any 64-bit version of Windows (x64 or Arm) that can run Indesign.
- Install the Adobe Creative Cloud app from https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/creative-cloud
- Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud, and install the Creative Cloud app itself, but DO NOT install Indesign yet.
- Download and install a Purchased version of Total Uninstall, then click Restore a program from backup from the File menu. Or do it manually following the steps below.
- Use 7-Zip to uncompress the Adobe Indesign.Monitored.zip file to a temporary folder. (Windows Explorer's built-in zip utility is unable to see most of the files in this ZIP file.)
- Copy the files to where they should go on your C: drive.
- Import the registry entries which you previously exported using RegEdit and then laboriously pruned using Notepad.
- Publishing Assistant should now be able to find and launch Indesign.
