With a new FLEx project based on an existing one with the same lexical entries, how do I automatically link the senses?

Hi @markebean. There is a FLExTrans module called Link All Senses As Duplicate that I will send to you. Starting in version 3.11, it will be included in the modules shipped with FLExTrans.

This module is ideal when you duplicate one FLEx project to be another one. In such a situation all the sense ids are exactly the same so it can be a big head start to link all source senses to their matches in the target project.

The end result is that you will have a link for every source sense to every corresponding target sense.

To add this module to your Tools collection in the FlexTools app and run it, here's what you do:

  1. On the main menu click FLExTools > Manage Collections
  2. Click on Tools in the Collections pane
  3. Find and click on Link All Senses As Duplicate in the Modules pane
  4. Click the Add Module toolbar button
  5. Move the module up in the list as desired with the Move Up button
  6. Close the Collections Manager
  7. Make sure your source project is what you want (check the first toolbar button’s project name)
  8. Make sure your target project is what you want. Go to FLExTrans > Settings and check the Target Project setting.
  9. Run the module!
  10. If it looks good, you can go back to the Collections Manager and remove the Module from the Tools collection. You won't need to use it again.
