Extra book not showing verses in interlinear

I created an empty extra book so I can type up some literacy materials and read them in the interlinear, but the interlinear only shows \id \rem \c \s \p and not the verse numbers where I put the body of the text. Any suggestions?

Paratext won't mark \xt text as linked in Extra Books, so how do I tell Paratext these books contain cross-references?
We use \xt ...\xt* all the time in Paratext and in many places, like Topical Index, Read through the Bible ... Scripture Reference Book Names. XXA Lit. Liturgy Sunday Liturgy etc.
