The shift+opening paratext doesn;t work and shows up the same error.

Hello anobon,

I’m also on the Paratext team and you must be hitting some condition that we are treating as a configuration error, but it must actually be caused by something else.

Probably the only way for us to find the source of the problem is to have a support session with you.

I’m in the Eastern US, so maybe my morning (could even be before 8AM my time) and your afternoon would be a possible time we could do this.

Send me an email directly at [Email Removed] and we can arrange a time and I’ll provide more details about how we can do this.

Blessings,

Does Paratext open after clicking OK? If so, please use Help > Give feedback to send in a problem report to us so we can take a closer look.

Are you upgrading from Paratext 8 to Paratext 9.1/9.2 or just receiving an automatic update to an existing 9.1/9.2?

No Paratext doesn’t open. It just errors out and stops.

9.1 was an automatic update and it gave the same error. On upgrading to 9.2 again had the same error.

anobon and I were able to have a support session and we concluded that there was a problem with the computer and they were going to get it checked by the dealer.

I think the reason this started happening after the Paratext 9.2 update is that Paratext generates some files to do data conversion and it wasn’t able to generate new versions of these files.

I have been having a similar problem with colleagues. Sometimes it can be a problem with the computer’s .net framework version. When we updated these, PT loaded properly. It first came to my notice when I was loading PT8, then 9.1 and now 9.2.

Please check this and confirm whether it is an issue.
Blessings.
