Hi,
We have been developing an iPad app called Agricola, which is like Paratext lite for tablets. The present version does not have the ability to do send & receive. We have now been in contact with an Egyptian company, the owner of which I met at EMDC some time ago. They could develop the send & receive component for the iPad app. They have requested access to the Duri project. I think it would be best to create a copy of the Duri project, so they could freely play with it and possible changes would not affect the real project.

But I do not know how that is done.
Do you know how it is done or who I should contact?
There is an empty project DAC (Duri Alkitab Copy), but it is empty. We could use that. How do you copy all the files with one command? Also, in the folder I see various kinds of files. Does one need to copy all the files or just some of them?

The name of the project to be copied is DUOT. I understand that the notes the team members have written belong to the project, so they will be included automatically.
Also the Indonesian back translation would need to be copied. It is DOTBT.

I’m sorry, but I have to ask how it is different from Paratext Lite? Is it a port to iPad?

Hi anon197762,

Can you please send me an email and we can set up a time to talk about this?

I am the program manager for Paratext, Paratext Lite, and Scripture Forge.

Hi anon892024,

Thanks for your email.

I am at the moment in Indonesia, where the internet is not good.

Email is the best way to communicate at the moment.

We will go back to Finland end of March, so in April we may set up a time to talk about this.

The iPad app is written in Swift, it is not a port of Paratext Lite. I do not know much about Paratext Lite. What technology is used to develop it?

Yours,

anon197762

Hi anon892024,

We are now back from Indonesia and have ended the 2 week quarantine and Easter is over, and we are up to date with our routines.

Now I am ready to talk with you.

I am interested in both Paratext Lite and Scripture Forge.

Our time zone here in Finland is UTC +3, now that we are having daylight savings time again.

What is your time zone?

Yours,

anon197762

Hi,
I have been able to import the books. How do I import the flags? I belive the flags are in Notes_Name_.xml.
When I try to import those, I get error messages like:

  • … Text before first \id is ignored.
  • … \id CONTEXTBEFORE: Invalid book name. Text ignored.
  • … Two files contain information for the same book. They cannot both be selected.

My recollection is that the easiest way to create a copy of a project is to back up the project, and restore from backup, choosing the option to create a new project.

You should get everything that was in the project (Notes, accepted spellings, etc.) But you won’t get the project history (if you want the history, I think it can be done with the Convert Project command).

After restoring, you can delete the ZIP file created by the backup operation.

Have you been able to make any progress on this front? Is there a way to use Paratext in some form on an Ipad these days?
