Our SE workers are registered as Consultant/Reviewers of the Paratext project. We are now setting them up to use SF for community testing. The problem is that they can see the questions, but they can't respond.

I tried sending a SF link to invite one of them to be a checker, but that didn't change anything--perhaps because he was already logged into SF with his Paratext account, which is connected with his email address.

Can you enable Paratext reviewers to answer and comment on questions in SF?

Hola Todd.

If you have a Paratext user as a consultant and he enters the project in SF, you can edit certain permissions in SF in the “Users” section, “Paratext members” tab and click on the three dots menu for the specific user to "Edit roles and permissions". And there you will see the option “Can add & edit questions”.

Saludos,
Pepe.

Thanks for this idea. We'll consider using it as a workaround, but "adding and editing" questions seems like a higher level of permission than "answering and commenting". I'll followup with JoEllyn as well.

Hi Todd,

It sounds like you might be trying to give Paratext consultants the ability to answer questions rather than editing the questions. Is that correct? If so, then they could do that by opening the link in a different browser or an incognito window where they're not signed into the Paratext account.

I'd like to understand more about your specific use case, in case there's a better way to solve this problem for you and others in the future. If you can provide more detail or would be interested in discussing your project's needs on a call, please send an email to [email protected] and we can connect with you directly.

JoEllen - in Paratext the role of Consultant is actually identified as: Consultant, Reviewer, Archivist, Typesetter. I can easily see situations where a person is given the role of Consultant so that they can provide feedback to the project. This seems like the natural place where a person would answer questions in Scripture Forge.

As an administrator on a project, I'm able to answer questions. I'm not sure why a person with the role of Consultant would not likewise be able to provide an answer.
