We're using text to speech software for audio to assist us in error checking. Instead of taking out the verse numbers manually, I'm looking for a solution that exports each chapter without verse numbers in a .doc, .txt, or .rtf. A PDF from something like PTXPrint might work, but is not preferred.

Simple method - Use Export to RTF from Paratext. When the RTF file opens, change the style of the verse number to 1pt font and make the color white. The verse numbers should be hidden. NOTE: this option hides the verse numbers, but they will still be read by a text to speech tool.

Would that really stop "text to speech" from reading the verse numbers?

After you open the RTF in Word, use the Find/Replace to search for the Format > Style > v - verse number

Replace with nothing. This will remove the verse numbers and allow the text to be read without the numbers.

Thanks a lot for just the solution I was looking for. I will be able to try this out next week.
