A translators posed this question:

“Paratext encountered a problem reading the program settings. If this continues to happen, reset paratext by holding down the shift key while it is starting. Remove old saved layouts.”

I held the shift key down while opening. When I go to delete layouts, they are not listed in the box to delete them. However they all show up under saved layouts.

I’m not sure what is going on, but it seems like the link to her layouts is somehow broken? Is there a way to restore these without having to delete them?

Thanks,

A screenshot would help, but just guessing based on the description she’s seeing the layouts from Paratext 8.0 which we don’t allow to be deleted via PT9.

Unfortunately, she’ll have to delete them manually from the _WindowCollections directory (old ones will have a .ptwc extension instead of a .ptwc2 extension). Note that deleting them will be permanent, so it might be best to move them somewhere else, make sure that solves the problem, then move any she needs back.
