Paratext removes the /c 2 marker when I save. What am I missing? Are there other specific markers needed between the chapters markers to order to get it accepted?

If everything following the \c 2 disappeared and you are viewing by-chapter, the \c 2 probably just moved to the next chapter. Did you try go to chapter 2 to see if it was there?
Or did only the \c 2 line disappear?
Only the /c 2 line disappeared, not the text after it
But you correct, I am viewing by Chapter, and when I Show All Chapters it works as I expected.
