I understand when Concordance Builder was new, there was a known way to convert a Word Concordance into .cnc format, or, more specifically, the XML format that is zipped up to create a .cnc file.

I have a concordance in Word that I want to convert to Concordance Builder Model concordance. Specifically the NIV Study Bible Concordance with 35,000 references. I realize it will need to be adapted to conform to CB format. That is not the problem. I can get a programmer to manipulate the text. I would just like to know how the program designers did it in the past. It is not obvious to me exactly what the procedure is.

I did write one of the program designers earlier this year. He gave me this hopeful, if not so helpful reply:

I have converted a number of concordances from Word or other formats to our format. In each case I just wrote a computer program (I used Visual Basic) to do it. If you can throw a developer at this then it is reasonably straightforward. I don’t do much programming and I managed it fine. If you give the programmer an example file he will work it out.

This sounds great, but a few more specifics would really help.
