Just recently Kaspersky Internet Security detected my Paratext 8 program as malware and deleted everything. Previously, some years ago, AVG anti-virus program did the same thing, which was a cause of much inconvenience.
Do I need to configure something in Paratext or is this a software problem?
Are other people experiencing this problem?

Would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

This is a common problem with antivirus software. Because of the way antivirus software works, it will sometimes get false positives. As @TSNgaihte said, it should have a way to exclude a program from it’s searching, and it’s the only way around the problem (well, you could also uninstall the antivirus, but that’s not recommended :yum:).

Yes, we face the same problem with all of our projects. What we did was we configure in Kaspersky Internet Security and added Paratext as a trusted app and included in the exclusion list.

I did include it in the exclusion list but it still interrupted my send-receive

I usually have to do both with Kaspersky, but it works after that.

  1. add the install program folder to the exclusion list
  2. add the exe to the trusted app list.
  3. check all he appropriate boxes for both those options when adding them
