Paratext Lite cannot access the default \Shared Paratext 8 Projects folder
Follow these directions to do Send/Receive and move the directory where both Paratext and Paratext Lite can use it:

  1. Add the tablet user to Users, Roles, and Permissions in Paratext
  2. Send/Receive the project from Paratext to a flash drive
  3. Plug the flash drive into the tablet using a micro USB adapter.
  4. Attempt to do a Send/Receive to USB from Paratext Lite (it will fail).
Paratext will display a warning message that says the drive was used in Paratext and needs to have the directory moved to \Android\data\org.paratext.ptlite\files\Shared Paratext 8 Projects.
  5. Switch to the Android file manager and locate the Shared Paratext 8 Projects folder.
  6. Move the folder. (You may need to look hard for the move option)
  7. Navigate to the directory that Paratext lite created: \Android\data\org.paratext.ptlite\files\
  8. Select “Done” to complete the move. This will place Shared Paratext 8 Projects folder inside of files\
  9. Switch back to Paratext. Close and reopen Send/Receive to USB.
  10. Now the Send/Receive will work.

So, are you saying that if you use an SD card, it automatically gets put in the correct folder? How so? The only way I can see is if the SD card has already been in the tablet, and PTLite has created its folder; then PT PC can see that folder and decide to put the data there.

But you didn’t specify that the SD card had to have been in the tablet first.

Yes, my instructions were wrong. They are now completely revised.

Thanks!

But for non-techie users, can they put an SD card or flash stick into the tablet first and have PT Lite create the folder for them?

Yes - the following should work (tested on a Samsung tablet):

  1. Insert blank flash stick/usb thumb drive in Android tablet.
  2. In Paratext Lite S/R to USB. (nothing will be found)
  3. Insert flash stick/usb thumb drive into Paratext machine.
  4. S/R to usb.
  5. Insert flash stick/usb thumb drive into Android tablet.
  6. S/R from usb.

This worked for me recently.
