In PT 7 there is a Filter button in the Compare Texts window. In PT8 I don’t see this button any more. It was a helpful feature for reviewing texts where there were few changes between the current and the baseline version. I used it for example during the last stages of a project (to review the very last changes to the text) or to compare a roundtrip from PubAssist with the current text (to check for accidental changes). I wonder why this feature is no longer there.

You should be able to accomplish this with the icon that looks like a funnel. It shows only the paragraphs with changes and hides all the unchanged paragraphs.

Yes, that’s the one I’m looking for - but for some reason it isn’t there.

I’m not sure why it is not showing for you. It does appear in my 8.0 compare windows. I notice in your screen shot that you are also not showing the two arrows that should be to the right of the printer icon.

One suggestion would be to try the Paratext “reset” by holding down Shift while starting Paratext. You can then choose to reset the settings and report a problem (but only do that if the problem persists).

Please note that when you do a reset it will reset your S/R preferences.

Some controls are hidden depending on where Compare Texts was shown from. How was that window opened? The missing controls are considered “uncommon” and are not shown e.g. when shown from the Parallel Passages tool or Import Books.

The funnel icon is back - I closed the Compare Texts window and reopened it simply from the Tools menu.

Thanks for your(2) help!
