I have a user who is wanting to use \iex as Bridge Text after a \s and \p. I created a custom.sty file for him and put this:

\Marker iex
\Name iex - Introduction - Explanatory or Bridge Text
\Description Introduction explanatory or bridge text (e.g. explanation of missing book in Short Old Testament)
\OccursUnder id, s, s1, s2, p
\TextType Other
\TextProperties paragraph publishable vernacular
\StyleType Paragraph
\FontSize 12
\FirstLineIndent .125 # 1/8 inch first line indent
\SpaceBefore 4
\SpaceAfter 4

This seemed to make Paratext accept \iex after a \p, but not after a \s.
I also tried the following, but it didn’t work either:

\Marker iex
\Name iex - Introduction - Explanatory or Bridge Text
\Description Introduction explanatory or bridge text (e.g. explanation of missing book in Short Old Testament)
\OccursUnder id, s, s1, s2, p
\Rank 4
\TextType Other
\TextProperties paragraph publishable vernacular
\StyleType Paragraph
\FontSize 12
\FirstLineIndent .125 # 1/8 inch first line indent
\SpaceBefore 4
\SpaceAfter 4

Is there a better way to do this?

Thank you,

SIL+LSS+PNG - markers that start with \i are defined as introductory markers and are used before the \c 1 in a book. I would suggest using some other paragraph marker for this information.

You might use something like \add…\add* to indicate this is additional material not part of the original text.

Thank you for that clarification. We’ll try \add.
