A blue progress button progress appears in the top-right of project windows once a project plan has been applied to a project. A fellow consultant asks whether there is any way to hide this. I don’t think there is, is there? Even if all progress steps have been ticked, it’s always there.

[caution - hack alert: do this at your own risk and don’t complain to the developers if you break something]

Well, I’ve pleased my consultant friend by making a transparent progress.png file which you can stick in C:\Program Files\Paratext 8\Themes\Default\Images in place of the standard one. (Of course I recommend saving the original progress.png file first so you can easily revert.) The progress button appears when you hover over the right place. Of course this doesn’t stop translators accidentally opening the progress window when trying to edit text that happens to be underneath it, but it removes some distraction. progress

No, there is no way to hide it without taking the book out of the project scope in Project > Project Properties and Settings > Books tab.
