When creating a new project, books must be selected on the books tab. Is this selection then used anywhere?

If a book is not chosen on this tab, can it still be created / translated / used in SAB / registry / PTXPrint etc, without issue?

I'm asking from a technical point of view, not because I am working on a real project, where the project administrator should be in control of the books to be translated.

As far as I know, this is called "project scope" and is used only for planing and tracking progress. You can add or remove books via "Project settings > Project properties."
Searching for "project scope" in the Paratext help turns up further info.

Hola.

This information is used to determine which books will have the Assignments and Progress option (the round blue icon at the top right of the included books). And where you can mark the progress of the different stages and tasks.
Note that this option also requires a Project Plan to be configured from Project settings > Project Plan.

You can always go back to this tab from Project settings and modify which books will be included.

Saludos,
Pepe.

None of the created OT books in the project are available in the book list inside the “Assignments & Progress” window. Is this a known problem? (Win7x64 SP1, PT8 v56)
