Is it possible, that you project has a custom stylesheet file? It would be in the project folder, e.g. C:\My Paratext 8 Projects\MP1\custom.sty (here the project name is MP1). There you would find an entry like:

\Marker wj
\Endmarker wj*
\Name wj...wj* - Special Text - Words of Jesus
#!\ColorName highcon blue

This setting is project wide, so if you e.g. change "blue" to "red" here, every team member now sees the \wj content red and not blue.

I see that there was a bug in v7 (at least) which prevented formatting quotes (italics) as words of Jesus (red). But I ... wrong? Is this a feature or a bug? Is there a workaround?
