In Paratext 8.0 (and later), you can:

  • See if the work of a translation team is ahead of or behind schedule.
  • See whether the current rate of progress will meet the goals of a project.
  • See a graph showing the finish date for a project based on current progress.

    # From the Project menu, select Progress Charts....
  1. From the "Select View" drop-down list, select Forecast Line Chart.
  2. From the "Show Book to View Progress" drop-down, select one of the following:
    • All Books – to see progress for the entire project.
    • Current Book – to only see progress for the current book.
  3. Optionally: Click the printer icon to print the chart.
  4. Optionally: Adjust the beginning point and/or the ending point of the graph. (See instructions below.)

Adjust beginning and/or ending point of graph

To adjust the beginning point of the graph, click the calendar icon to the right of the “Show from” box and do any of the following:

  • Click the right-arrow or left-arrow to navigate to a date, and then click that date.
  • Click Start of Project to change the beginning point to the date when the project began.
  • Click A Year Ago to change the beginning point to a date one year earlier than the current date.
  • Click Start of Quarter to change the beginning point to the first day of the current quarter.

To adjust the ending point of the graph, click the calendar icon to the right of the “Show until” box and do any of the following:

  • Click the right-arrow or left-arrow to navigate to a date, and then click that date.
  • Click Target Completion (Registry) to change the ending point to the date in the "Expected Completion" box in the Paratext Registry.
  • Click Forecast Completion to change the ending point to the date Paratext calculates that the project will be complete.
  • Click End of Quarter to change the ending point to the last day of the current quarter.

Explanation of the chart

  • Horizontal axis: Displays years and the endpoints display the date in YYYY-MM format.
  • Vertical axis: Displays the percentage of completion.
  • Broken diagonal lines:
    With a square at the upper right: Shows progress relative to the date in the "Expected Completion" box in the Paratext Registry.
    With a triangle at the upper right: Shows the estimated completion based on actual progress.
  • Solid diagonal line: Shows actual progress.
  • Vertical line: Shows the estimated completion date.
