The limitations of Paratext for guest users are grouped below by areas of Paratext use.

When you read each bullet, start with the words: “Guest users CANNOT”

    Project registration
  • Register a project.
  • Be registered users.
    Send/Receive
  • Send/Receive a project to the internet.
  • Restore projects after a disk failure.
    Resources
  • Access, download, or install resources that are unavailable to the administrator who created the guest registration.
    Biblical Terms items
  • Approve or deny renderings of Biblical Terms.
  • Modify the Project Biblical Terms list.
    Convert Project tool
  • Have their name used for a replacement name.
  • Make a project folder smaller by either removing deleted files from project history OR by cleaning up Paratext Live history
    Progress tracking
  • Add tasks from another plan.
  • Change the expected rate of progress.
  • Copy the expected rate of progress.
  • Customize stages.
  • Modify the project plan.
  • Mark project progress.
  • Remove tasks, columns, or rows from project progress charts.
    Miscellaneous
  • Create a new project.
  • Make Wordlist changes.
  • Approve parallel passages.
  • Delete/remove themselves from a project.
  • Be a project administrator.
  • Use Paratext Live over the Internet.
  • Access the Paratext website (http://paratext.org/).

Furthermore, the Paratext Registry does not keep track of guest user information (such as registration codes or the role a guest user has on a project).

:checkicon: Guest user registrations are intended to be temporary - until the administrator has internet access and can register those users.
Guest users have limited functionality (as described above) to encourage registration at the administrator’s earliest convenience.
If a project is not registered, it has further limitations listed in Why should I register my project?

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
