If you choose not to use the Internet server for Paratext Live, the Paratext Live server would normally be the computer of the person who starts the first session on a local area network. A Paratext Live session started in this way ends or stops responding if any of the following happen on that computer:
- The user leaves the session or exits Paratext.
- The computer hibernates.
- The computer becomes disconnected from the local area network.
This can be problematic. To minimize such problems, in Paratext 7.4 (and later), you can start a Paratext Live session on a local dedicated Paratext Live server.
Paratext does not require user registration when you start the Paratext Live server.
