When printing a draft text, it places the start of each new chapter on a different page. So instead of having the end of chapter 7 and the beginning of chapter 8 on the same page, it will start chapter 8 on a separate page. Is there a way to print so that the text flows from chapter to chapter without the disruption of placing a new chapter on a new page?

Yes, there are known issues with the Export to PDF in Paratext. We recommend using PTXPrint. This is a tool allows you to print PDFs out of Paratext. You can find it at Home - PTXprint - PTXprint
There are lots of features so I would recommend you review some of the videos found at Documentation - PTXprint - PTXprint

I would second the recommendation to use PTXprint.

This issue with Export to PDF in PT came up at a recent PTXprint workshop, and the solution was found. I don’t remember what the solution was (it requires editing a text file in the PT installation directory), but if you ask on PTXprint - SIL Scripture Software Community someone can likely tell you.

Interesting…I was recently looking for the option in PTXprint to start each chapter on a new page. Is that there?

To print each chapter on a new page, go to Advanced–>Apply Changes.txt, and Edit it. Then add this line to that file:
'\\c ' > '\\pb\\c '

Not in any way denying that changes.txt can do lots of fun stuff, this one's actually in the UI already:

On the body tab, (probably in advanced mode), top-ish right there's "Start 1st chapter on a new page." Once that's ticked, there's "All chapters" beside it.

The name of this option is different. Just above it, “Always start 1st Chapter on a New Page” refers to a page break between the Intro of a book and Chapter 1.
