It seems impossible to insert a project note which covers more than one verse (or indeed a whole verse if that verse contains a poetry or other marker). Yet, as a consultant, I quite often want to comment across verse (or other marker) boundaries. Is there any way around this ?
Thanks,

It is not possible to select more than one verse for a note. However, you can select an entire verse (including ones with other markers) by clicking on (or after) the verse number and then inserting the note. The entire verse will be displayed in bold in the note (without the extra markers).
To include a second verse you would need to indicate in the note that the verse covers additional verses.

Meanwhile, select the whole text, including format markers as desired, and copy it. Then select a smaller portion and insert the note. Then paste the copied text into the note. There will be no problem with format markers inside the note, they will copy just fine.

This would be a great new feature.
