I’ve heard of two users recently who after installing Paratext 9 for the first time, went to send/receive projects, and no shared projects were visible. When they restarted the computer, send/receive did show them projects.
So maybe it is wise to restart the computer after a new install, even though Paratext does not require you to.

Hello all. I have this problem on my new computer for one of my shared projects (only one of many). This shared project has NOT shown up in my s/r list after a Paratext restart nor after a computer restart. I checked in the Pxt Registry and I am still listed as a member of the project. What do I do now to get this project in my s/r list so I can get it on my new computer? (It does not show up in the s/r list for either an internet s/r or a USB key s/r. We tried that!)

@anon905537 - do you happen to have a version of the missing project published to the DBL?

Hi. The project is not in the DBL. The resource that was made from the project is in the DBL. But we haven’t lost the project – it exists on the computers of other team members. It is just that I can’t get it onto my new computer because it doesn’t show up in the send/receive list. So I can’t s/r from the Pxt registry or from a USB key that has the project on it.

If the dbl resource has the same GUID as the project, (name doesn’t have to match), and the resource is installed on the machine, then PT won’t list the project in the S/R dialog.

Quick solution would be to uninstall the resource.

Hi hindlemail,

Thanks for that hint. It worked! I uninstalled the resource and then the project showed up in my s/r list. After I had the project safely in, I reinstalled the resource. Thx!

Grateful,

Supporters: if other users experience this, would you please have them report it? I’m hopeful that the development team might be able to find why this is happening and be able to fix it.

I see this regularly when installing on a fresh laptop, and start PT9 for the first time. But I can just close and reopen PT9 and everything shows up in the S/R list. I have never needed to do a restart on the laptop.

Yes sewhite, I have been faced with this problem since 9.2. To bypass this abnormally, I only need to close and reopen Paratext and that fixed S+R.
